About Us

Get Cycling is a registered Community Interest Company run by enthusiastic, creative professionals. For the last ten years we have promoted cycling across the UK through bike try-out events, bike loan programmes and health challenges. We have put almost a million people on bikes. We employ 20 people, rising to 30 over the summer. We have always been based in York, but have only recently begun offering our services directly to the people of York. We have now taken the plunge! Our new premises in Hospital Fields Road, right on the bike path network, allows us to become a new kind of cycling centre for the community.

Our range of cycles for sale or hire is, we believe, the largest in the country, and our workshops are equipped to repair anything you can throw at us (not literally, we hope). If you have any kind of disability, our Bikes not Barriers programme, based on our unique fleet of specialised cycles, may be of use. If you are a local organisation or business we can give you bespoke services, based on the extensive cycling promotion programmes we have delivered all over the UK. Then there are classes, courses, cycling holidays, guided bike rides, the York Festival of Cycling... We work with Cycling City York to get you cycling and keep you cycling. Support us, and you support all our community cycling work across the city.
